1. About this policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out rules for using ventir.app and any related Ventir services. It applies to all users, including visitors, waitlist subscribers and, when Marketplace Features launch, Guests, Bookers, Hosts and anyone interacting through the platform.
This AUP forms part of our Terms of Service. We may suspend, restrict or terminate access, remove content, cancel bookings, hold or reverse payouts, report matters to authorities or take legal action where this AUP is breached.
2. General principles
- Use Ventir lawfully, honestly, safely and respectfully.
- Provide accurate, complete and non-misleading information.
- Respect other users, Hosts, Guests, venues, neighbours, staff and third parties.
- Use the Service only for legitimate venue discovery, listing, booking and related communications.
- Comply with applicable laws, licences, permissions, venue rules and platform policies.
- Do not expose Ventir, users or third parties to avoidable legal, financial, safety, reputational or regulatory risk.
3. Prohibited activity
3.1 Illegal, unsafe or harmful activity
- Conducting, facilitating, promoting or concealing illegal activity.
- Using venues for unlawful events, unlicensed music events, unauthorised alcohol sales, unlicensed gambling, prohibited substances, weapons or other illegal purposes.
- Human trafficking, modern slavery, forced labour, child exploitation, sexual exploitation, abuse of vulnerable people or any activity linked to exploitation.
- Violence, threats, harassment, stalking, bullying, intimidation, doxxing or incitement to violence.
- Hate, discrimination or abuse based on protected characteristics or other personal attributes.
- Events that create unreasonable risk to health, safety, public order, property, neighbours or the wider community.
- Ignoring lawful instructions from venue staff, emergency services, regulators or platform safety instructions.
3.2 Fraud, misrepresentation and financial abuse
- Providing false, misleading, incomplete or fraudulent information.
- Fake listings, fake bookings, fake reviews, fake identities or fake documentation.
- Impersonating another person, business, venue, authority or payment account holder.
- Using stolen, unauthorised, fraudulent or disputed payment methods.
- Misrepresenting venue location, capacity, facilities, accessibility, licences, restrictions, pricing, availability or terms.
- Concealing mandatory fees, deposits, taxes, cleaning fees, overtime fees, corkage, security requirements or material restrictions.
- Manipulating ratings, reviews, search rankings, referrals, promotions or platform incentives.
- Creating multiple accounts to avoid restrictions, enforcement, fees, limits or previous suspensions.
3.3 Platform abuse and off-platform activity
- Bypassing Ventir fees, booking flows, payment systems, safety checks or dispute processes.
- Soliciting, encouraging or requiring users to complete bookings or payments outside Ventir where the introduction happened through Ventir.
- Sending spam, unsolicited marketing, phishing, malware, malicious links or repeated unwanted contact.
- Scraping, harvesting, copying, republishing or exploiting Service content without permission.
- Using bots, crawlers, automated tools or AI agents to interact with the Service without prior written consent.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, probing, scanning or attempting to extract source code or security information.
- Interfering with, overloading, disrupting or compromising the Service, accounts, infrastructure or security controls.
3.4 Content standards
- Do not upload, post, send or link to content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, exploitative, misleading or harmful.
- Do not upload content that infringes copyright, trade marks, design rights, privacy rights, confidentiality or other rights.
- Do not share personal data about another person without a lawful basis and appropriate consent where required.
- Do not upload malware, harmful code or files designed to disrupt systems.
- Do not post reviews that are fake, incentivised without disclosure, retaliatory, irrelevant, abusive or based on events that did not occur.
4. Equality, accessibility and non-discrimination
Hosts must not refuse bookings, impose different terms or treat users less favourably because of protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, including disability, race, sex, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, marriage or civil partnership, subject only to lawful exceptions.
Hosts must provide accurate accessibility information and must not mislead users about step-free access, toilets, parking, sensory environment, capacity, assistance animals or reasonable adjustments. Guests must not request events or arrangements that would require unlawful discrimination.
5. Host-specific rules
- You must have legal authority to list and make the venue available.
- You must hold required licences, permissions, planning consents, insurance and safety documentation.
- You must disclose all material venue rules, restrictions, fees, deposits, capacity limits, accessibility limitations and cancellation terms upfront.
- You must comply with fire safety, health and safety, safeguarding, public liability, employment, immigration, equality, data protection and licensing obligations.
- You must keep listings accurate and update availability promptly.
- You must honour confirmed bookings unless cancellation is permitted by the applicable policy or required for safety or legal reasons.
- You must not ask users introduced by Ventir to pay or book outside the platform unless Ventir has expressly permitted it in writing.
- You must cooperate with reasonable platform checks, complaints, disputes, fraud reviews, safety reviews and lawful requests.
6. Guest and Booker-specific rules
- You must provide accurate event details, intended use, attendee numbers, timings, age restrictions and special requirements.
- You are responsible for your attendees, contractors, suppliers, performers and invitees.
- You must comply with venue rules, licensing conditions, capacity limits, safety instructions, noise limits and end times.
- You must pay agreed fees, deposits, overtime, damage charges or other amounts due under the booking terms.
- You must leave the venue in the agreed condition and report damage, incidents or safety issues promptly.
- You must not use a venue for undisclosed, illegal, unsafe or materially different purposes.
7. Reporting violations
Report concerns to contact@ventir.app using the subject line “AUP REPORT - [brief description]”. Include relevant evidence such as listing URLs, booking references, screenshots, messages, dates, times and photographs.
For immediate danger call 999. For fraud or cybercrime consider Action Fraud. For suspected modern slavery or exploitation, contact the Modern Slavery Helpline or police.
8. Enforcement
We may take action depending on the nature, severity, evidence and risk of the breach. This may include:
- Warning or education.
- Content, message, listing or review removal.
- Feature restrictions or temporary suspension.
- Booking cancellation or refusal.
- Holding, delaying, reversing or withholding payouts where permitted by law and platform terms.
- Permanent account termination or ban.
- Reporting to payment providers, regulators, police, fraud agencies or other authorities.
- Legal action to recover losses or protect users and the platform.
We will normally give users an opportunity to explain where appropriate. We may act immediately without notice where there is suspected fraud, illegality, exploitation, safety risk, serious policy breach, evidence risk or legal obligation.
9. Appeals and corrections
If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, contact us within 14 days and provide relevant evidence. We may review the decision but are not required to reinstate content, accounts or bookings where we reasonably consider there is ongoing legal, safety, fraud or platform risk.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate. Continued use after changes are notified constitutes acceptance.
